The Queen Mary - Larger than the Titanic, The Queen Mary allows tourists to take a self-guided tour of the bridge, engine rooms and officers' quarters, while guided tours visit areas of the ship which are otherwise inaccessible. The boat has been turned into a hotel, and features several restaurants, shops and a wedding chapel. Naples Island - Naples Island in Long Beach, located in the middle of Alamitos Bay, was the brainchild of Arthur Parson, who wanted to create a romantic spot that resembled Italy. He dug canals and built cozy cottage homes on the water. There is a park in the center of the island and a small beach encircling most of it. If you miss Italy or want a little romance in your life, visit this spot for a day. The El Dorado Regional Park - The El Dorado Regional Park is a sprawling park in Long Beach. It was first opened in 1955, and ever since it has been attracting nature lovers who want to get away from the city that lies just outside the park. Moonlight Movies on the Beach - Alfredo's Beach is proud to bring you free Movies on the Beach. Plenty of free parking and popcorn. A full BBQ dinner menu as well as snacks will be available for purchase. Movies on The Beach start at dusk. Scottish Festival - The sound of bagpipes and brogues fill the elegant Queen of the Sea, Queen Mary ship and surrounding seaport during the Annual Scottish Festival. One of Southern California’s largest celebrations of Scottish culture includes Highland dancing, bagpipe bands, sheep-herding dogs, Hammer Throw, Putting the Stone and Tossing the Caber among other athletic events. Long Beach Jazz Festival - A popular event in Southern California, this festival takes place in a great outdoor setting, near a lagoon and offers entertainment by some of the biggest names in jazz.
