Riverwalk - This charming riverside dining and entertainment boardwalk is a popular riverfront meeting place for locals and visitors alike. You will find 1.2 miles of restaurants, bars, shops, museums and a marina. Take a relaxing stroll while enjoying scenic views of the downtown skyline. Kayak Amelia - Guided Kayak tours are planned to go with the current and start with a short instruction on land. You will then paddle to a sandbar for a snack and swim in warm weather. Then paddle to the take out location. Along the way the naturalists describe the salt marsh eco-system, critters and local history. Tillie K. Fowler Regional Park - One of Jacksonville's largest parks, this 509-acre facility features the Tillie K. Fowler Nature Center with outdoor classroom, picnic area with grills and playground equipment, biking trails, a series of hiking and nature trails, and an elevated platform from which to view wetlands, soaring bald eagles, and other birds. NAS Jax Air Show - Enjoy this great family event featuring top military and civilian performers. Don’t miss the amazing Super Shockwave Jet Truck reaching speeds over 300 mph while racing down the runway. The grand finale will feature the world famous Blue Angels. Tour de Pain Run - This race series is designed to test your ability to run three different races in a twenty-four hour period. Your time in each of the three events will be added together to determine your place for the Tour de Pain. If that doesn't appeal to you, just pick one race and sign up for that one individually. Join us for a 4 mile beach run, a 5k run, and a mile sizzler. Right Whale Festival - Celebrate the North Atlantic right whales' annual return to their only known calving area in the Southeast U.S. With as few as 350 remaining, there are many local efforts to protect these critically endangered whales from extinction. Beach Road Chicken Dinners - This hometown favorite has been in the same location since 1939 when Atlantic Blvd. was the only accessible road to the beach. Back then, chickens were homegrown and take-out was a novelty. Today we're still cookin' up the best Southern fried chicken and fixin's you've ever eaten. Pepper Pot - On a daily basis, The Pepper Pot's Menu will include beef stew, curry shrimp, pepper steak, curry goat, curry chicken, served on steamed rice with a green salad.
