Located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula near Paradise on Whitefish Bay. This state park is open year round and has 40 miles of hiking trails, 13 inland lakes and about 20,000 acres of undeveloped area to enjoy. Popular activities include hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, bird watching, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The Upper Falls is one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi and drops almost 50 feet and is 200 feet across. There is an observation platform at the crest of the Falls that is handicap accessible. There are also steps that lead to the bottom of the falls and a 4 mile hiking trail along the river to the Lower Falls. There is a restaurant and gift shop at the Upper Falls.
Located in Saugatuck in Western Michigan. Saugatuck and Douglas are Michigan’s premiere beach towns. Both towns have public beaches on Lake Michigan. Oval Beach has been rated as one of the top beaches in the country. The beach is nestled among towering sand dunes and bordered by the Kalamazoo River.
