January 31 - February 2 - Groundhog Day, Punxsutawney - Come watch the famous Punxsutawney Phil predict the end of winter. The 2013 Flower Show's theme is "Brilliant." Each year this event takes place in Reading, Pennsylvania. It is one of the longest running in the nation, and features many different vendors who come to display and sell their wares. The Festival features a horse drawn carousel, a children's petting zoo, a train pulled by a tractor, and more. There also is live entertainment, square dancing, and a number of arts and crafts that will be on display. 888-674-6136 Kutztown Fairgrounds - 450 Wentz Street (12424) July 3-5 - Gettysburg Civil War Battle Reenactment, Gettysburg - The Gettysburg Civil War Battle Reenactment is a reenactment of the Battle of Gettysburg. This event is designed to help the nation remember this battle which is so important in our nation's history, as well as to help remind us of the cost of war. 717-338-1525 (12425) August 2-8 - Union County West End Fair, Laurelton - At the Union County West End Fair there are always lots of things to do. The activities at the fair are varied; ranging from 4H-FFA exhibits to tractor pulls and a car and truck show. The possibilities at to what you can do at the fair seem endless. Activities at the fair include: a demolition derby, a number of exhibits, and fair queen pageantry. The Sommerset County Fair will have bingo, a bake sale, a semi-truck pull, livestock exhibits and shows, and a fair talent show.
