Loveland Living Planet Aquarium

Loveland Living Planet AquariumLocated in Draper, just west of I-15. The new and improved aquarium is now open with 4 main exhibits and 451 species of animals on display. The Ocean Explorer exhibit features saltwater species from all over the world and a shark tunnel. The Journey to South America exhibit takes you through the rainforests of South America where you will see electric eels, tree frogs, and 10-foot anacondas. The Discover Utah exhibit has some of Utah’s threatened and endangered species and it features 3 North American River Otters that are a favorite with visitors. The Antarctic Adventure exhibit has 11 Gentoo penguins that are native to the Falkland Islands.

Escalante Petrified Forest State Park

Escalante Petrified Forest State ParkLocated in Escalante in south central Utah. There is a visitor center that has petrified wood, petrified dinosaur bones, and shell fossils. There are several trails that wind through the park past lava flows and thousands of pieces of petrified wood. You can camp on the shores of Wide Hollow Reservoir and rent a canoe to enjoy the clear water. The park is open year round.

Capitol Reef National Park

Capitol Reef National ParkLocated in south-central Utah. This park is a treasure in red rock country filled with cliffs, canyons, rock formations and bridges in the Waterpocket Fold. Some of the favorite activities here include hiking, biking, backpacking, and camping. There are several auto tours through the park. In the Fruita area and the Scenic Drive, there are 15 hikes ranging from easy to strenuous. There is one developed campground and two primitive campgrounds.
