March 14-15 - Irish Festival, Seattle - At the Irish Festival, there will be a variety of fun things to do. Activities will include contests for children such as the "most Irish face" contest. There will be Irish music, Irish food, and screenings of Irish short films. Additionally, there will be a number of workshops teaching about how to do genealogy, as well as teaching the Irish language. Finally there will be live performances by Irish dancers. 206-427-3027 Seattle Center Armory (12475) May 1 - 3 - Grays Harbor Shorebird and Nature Festival, Hoquiam - At the annual Shorebird Festival there will be opportunities to see some of the nearly 100,000 shorebirds that are taking part in their annual migration to their nesting grounds in the Arctic. This event is attended by many individuals from around the world as it is an enjoyable opportunity to see so many shorebirds together at one place at the same time. Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge (12477) July 9 - 11 - Arlington Fly In, Arlington - An exciting aviation event, the Arlington Fly In is an excellent event to take part in. There will be an air show and the opportunity to view different planes, as well as A/C plane flying and a variety of flight related workshops. Also, don't miss the antique car show that will accompany the air show. 360-435-5857 (12479) August 5-9 - Grays Harbor County Fair, Elma - There will be a wide variety of events taking place at the Grays Harbor County Fair with concerts being performed by musicians such as Clay Walker, Dan Whyms, and Humptulips. 360-482-2651 Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds (12481) August 6-9 - Whidbey Island Are Fair, Langley - With 4H exhibits, animal showings and other fun things to do such as stick horse races and a pie eating contest, the Whidbey Island Fair is a great opportunity to get out and have some fun. There also will be live entertainment throughout the fair. 360.221.4677 (12484) August 7-16 - Clark County Fair, Ridgefield - The Clark County Fair includes a number of fun events including a monster truck rally, live music performances, and carnival rides and games. There also will be a number of family oriented events including a number of dog related competitions, a pirate parrot show, and a petting zoo. 360.397.6180 Clark County Fairgrounds (12480) August 12-16 - Skamania County Fair and Timber Carnival, Stevenson - The Skamania County Fair and Timber Carnival is a tradition of people sharing their knowledge and skills for the preservation and promotion of what's best in America. There will be an exhibit hall and a variety of other activities and events during the Skamania County Fair and Timber Carnival. 509-427-3980 Rock Creek Hegewald Center (12483) August 17-22 - Northwest Washington Fair, Lynden - The Northwest Washington Fair will feature a parade and a variety of 4H events and FFA exhibits. Additionally there will be a demolition derby, live concerts and a horse show. There certainly will be things to do at the Northwest Washington Fair. 360.354.4111 Northwest Washington Fair and Event Center (12482) August 25-29 - Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo, Kennewick - With a carnival and a kid's zone, the Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo tries to be family friendly, providing things to do for all the members of the family. Activities include a kids' pedal tractor pull, puzzlemania, and a world of reptiles exhibit for children.
