9-1-1 Festival - Where 9-1-1 Begin."The first 9-1-1 phone call was made from the Haleyville Police Station on February 16, 1968. Festival honors all Police, Fire, Rescue, & Emergency personell. The weekend kicks off with a Street Dance on Friday night, then on Saturday lots of arts & cafts vendors, a Car Show,free kids activities, & lots of good food will be in the Downtown area.

AWF Youth Fishing Rodeo - The rodeo is open to anyone age 15 and under. This program provides the youth of Alabama a chance to enjoy the outdoors and learn about fishing.

Caribbean Day at the Park - This festival celebrates the rich diversity of Birmingham's people through reggae and rock-steady music. In the midst of the music and fun is an on-site Caribbean marketplace featuring authentic African garb, art, sculptures, fabric, hand-crafted jewelry, a Jamaican Jerk Chicken Cook-off, and a host of educational activities and other treasures from the island.


Gadsden RiverFest - RiverFest started in a mall parking lot on July 4th, 1986. The first crowd was estimated at 1,000 – 1,500. Local musicians played from two flatbed trucks. Fireworks, hotdogs, and soft drinks were added to create the ideal Southern “Fourth of July” Celebration. A family friendly atmosphere with great musical entertainment, fireworks, arts, crafts, food, kids play area and more.

Magic City Classic - Annual football rivalry featuring Alabama A&M University Bulldogs of Huntsville against the Alabama State University Hornets of Montgomery.

Sidewalk Film Festival - Since its debut in 1999, filmmakers from across the country and around the world have come to Birmingham to screen their work at Sidewalk and have been thrilled to discover fresh, enthusiastic crowds eager to devour new independent cinema. With nine venues located within Birmingham’s historic Theatre District, spontaneity rules the schedule of Sidewalk attendees.

Zoolight Safari - Enjoy over half-a-million lights, the Holiday Train Ride, Jingle Bell Carousel, Santa's Rock'n Roller Racers, Winter Trail Hayride, story time, animal demos, and much more. Be sure to stop at the Barn in the Children’s Zoo for photo opportunities, animals and holiday crafts for all to enjoy.
