Located in DeQuincy which is about 25 miles northwest of Lake Charles, LA. Many artifacts are displayed throughout the museum. There are two waiting rooms, a ticket office and a baggage room with original floors and benches. Outside the museum there is a 1913 steam locomotive, a Pullman passenger car and two cabooses. The museum has a collection of model steam and diesel engines as well as a working model train. The Louisiana Railroad Days Festival is held here each year on the second weekend in April.

Located 15 miles from Natchitoches in Melrose. Also known as Yucca Plantation, the plantation consists of 9 buildings. Take a tour and discover the 200-year history. Tours are given daily all year except for Mondays and some holidays. This is one of the largest plantations in the United States built by and for free blacks. The original owners, the Metoyers, became the leading family of a community called Isle Brevelle where free people of color were business people, plantation owners and slave owners. There is also a collection of work by Clementine Hunter, a famous African American folk artist.
