American Visionary Art Museum - The American Visionary Art Museum showcases works by self-taught, outsider artists that have often been overlooked in the art world. Founded in 1995 by Rebecca Hoffberger, this unique arts attraction has a permanent collection and holds yearlong exhibits showcasing pieces centered on one theme such as faith, substance abuse and war and peace.

Baltimore Museum of Art - The Baltimore Museum of Art is home to an internationally renowned collection of 19th-century, modern, and contemporary art. Founded in 1914 with a single painting, the BMA today has 90,000 works of art. Outstanding selections of European and American fine and decorative arts, prints and drawings, contemporary art by established and emerging contemporary artists, and objects from Africa, Asia, the Ancient Americas, and Pacific Islands. Two beautifully landscaped gardens display an array of 20th-century sculpture that is an oasis in the city.

Cylburn Arboretum - Cylburn Arboretum is a 207 acre urban park administered by the Horticultural Division of the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks. It is located within the city limits, but has the feeling of an estate set in the rolling countryside. Collections of Japanese maples, hollies, conifers, Maryland oaks (begun on Arbor Day 1983) beeches, tree peonies, maples and magnolias stand on spacious lawns and many gardens surround the Victorian Mansion. Trails wind through the woodlands, where rare trees, native plants and wildflowers may be studied.

Fort McHenry National Monument - The flag that flies at Fort McHenry is 30X42 feet, big enough to see "by the dawn's early light." Its 15 stars and stripes still fly as boldly as they did at the Battle of Baltimore, when U.S. soldiers reclaimed American independence from the British in the War of 1812.

Great Blacks in Wax Museum - The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum is among the nations most dynamic cultural and educational institutions. Because it is a wax museum committed solely to the study and preservation of African American history, it is also among the most unique. Primarily, the presentation of life-size, life-like wax figures highlighting historical and contemporary personalities of African ancestry defines its uniqueness.
