Death Valley National Park - Death Valley National Park, 130 miles Northwest of Las Vegas, is transected from east to west by California Highway 190.

Valley of Fire State Park - Valley of Fire derives its name from the spectacular red sandstone formations in the park. A visitor’s information center located within the park includes exhibits on geology, prehistory and ecology of the park. There are camping sites, picnicking sites and hiking opportunities for the visitor.

Desert National Wildlife Refuge - The complex consists of four refuges located in southern Nevada: Desert National Wildlife Range, Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge, Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, Moapa Valley National Wildlife Refuge, and the Amargosa Pupfish Station.

Great Basin National Park - From the sagebrush at its alluvial base to the 13,063-foot summit of Wheeler Peak, Great Basin National Park includes streams, lakes, alpine plants, abundant wildlife, a variety of forest types including groves of ancient bristlecone pines, and numerous limestone caverns, including beautiful Lehman Caves.

Flamingo Wildlife Habitat - Appropriately enough, the Flamingo resort is home to a flock of live Chilean Flamingos! These birds, as well as a collection of other feathered friends, fascinate guests and populate the wildlife habitat. There are also swans, ducks, Koi and turtles.

Floyd Lamb Park - Floyd Lamb Park has 2,040 acres which include tree-shaded groves alongside four small fishing lakes. Picnic areas, native desert wildlife and vegetation are found throughout the facility. Ducks, geese, chickens and peacocks are park residents. Also located in the park is the Las Vegas Gun Club. Horseback riding, carriage and sleigh rides are available seasonally through Las Vegas Carriage.

Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve - The Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve is home to thousands of migratory waterfowl as well as numerous resident desert birds. There are nine ponds available for birding, surrounded by both paved and dirt paths. The paved path is approximately 3/4 of a mile long. The dirt paths are level and allow for easy walking.

Veterans Memorial Wall - Originally inscribed with 1,213 names, the wall today bears more than 1,500 veterans and soldiers that have served our country. The Wall honors the community's civic leaders, deceased veterans that lived in Henderson prior to 1980, all Vietnam War veterans either living or deceased, and soldiers killed in action living in Henderson from 1980 to present.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area - Lake Mead National Recreation Area (NRA) offers a wealth of things to do and places to go year-round. Its huge lakes cater to boaters, swimmers, sunbathers, and fishermen while its desert rewards hikers, wildlife photographers, and roadside sightseers.

Spring Mountains National Recreation Area- In the Spring Mountains of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest on route 157 is the Mt. Charleston Recreation Area. Charleston's peak reaches 11,900 ft. The lower foot hills are covered with pinion pine and juniper trees. There is an wide variety of wildlife in the area including Rocky Mountain Elk, Desert Bighorn Sheep, Mule Deer and many others. There are numerous hiking trails and picnic areas in the Mount Charleston area. Skiing, camping are also available.

Old Las Vegas Mormon State Historic Park - Old Vegas Mormon State Historic Park is located in downtown Las Vegas, at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area - Located 15 miles west of Las Vegas via Charleston Boulevard, the Visitor Center, hours varies with season. A 197,000 acre area provides a 13 mile scenic loop drive, and over 30 miles of hiking trails. Picnic areas, cycling, hiking, climbing and horseback riding are available throughout the NCA. The visitor center contains historical and geological exhibits, a cactus garden and a bookstore.

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park - Spring Mountain Ranch State Park has a private picnic area for any group by reservation. Paved parking, bathrooms, grills, tables, electricity, grass meadow, Elvis Presta Biking Trail, visitor center and gift shop. There are also guided tours and summer theater programs.
