Casey Tibbs South Dakota Rodeo Center - The Museum is a historical museum devoted to the legendary sport of South Dakota rodeo; the history and its stars. With an extensive collection of the memorabilia and collections of icons Casey Tibbs, 9 times World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider and more, this museum provides a historical view into the rich culture which has made rodeo such an important part of South Dakota history.

Fischers Lilly Park - The meeting of Lewis and Clark's Corp of Discovery and the Teton Lakota nation is considered to be one of the most pivotal moments in the history of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Differences in trade objectives, diplomacy, and the lack of an interpreter lead to an armed confrontation, the closest Lewis and Clark came to a premature end to their expedition. This meeting happened at the mouth of the Bad River in what today is known as Fischers Lilly Park.

Fort Pierre Chouteau - In the mid-1800's, Fort Pierre Chouteau was the largest trading post on the upper Missouri River, a thriving community of traders, trappers, and Native Americans. Following that it was used briefly as a military fort. Today, not much remains of the fort's wooden bastions and buildings; but the site has been named a National Historic Landmark.

Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail - The most famous visitors to the Pierre area arrived in the early days of our country’s history: Lewis and Clark and their Corps of Discovery. Today the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail traces the route of the explorers. Numerous viewing points and interpretive signs tell the story of the expedition’s experiences during the week in late September 1804, when they journeyed up the Missouri River and past the site of present-day Pierre.
