Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine - The main attraction is a tour that takes visitors below ground, under the supervision of an experienced veteran coal miner. Traveling 1500 feet beneath the hillsides of New River Park, visitors are carried along track, riding authentic "man cars" from the mine entrance, to old working areas of the coal mine and back.

Camden Amusement Park - Camden Park has more than 30 rides and attractions! Set sail for adventure on the Rockin' Tug. The Camden Princess is fun for the whole family! With rockin' and whirlin', you won't want to miss any of the action.

Children's Theatre of Charleston - The Official West Virginia Children's Theatre is a great place for children to showcase their talents and others to enjoy the performing arts through the eyes of children. Since 1932, The Children's Theatre of Charleston has educated children about the theater. We give them an opportunity to learn and thrive by participating in plays- performing on stage or in important backstage roles.

Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences - Imagine a place full of wonder and excitement. It’s a place where you can treat yourself to an evening of top entertainment. Kids can make a giant bubble, activate a volcano, or create a dancing water fountain. Everyone can enjoy a thrilling giant screen film or be fascinated by the variety of artwork and traveling exhibits.

Heritage Towers Museum - Heritage Towers exhibits were created as a special tribute to a time honored African American tradition nationally celebrated as Black History Month. Heritage Towers and it’s Black Culture & African Heritage Exhibit are vital components of the culture of West Virginia, providing enriching and educational enlightenment for all, from pre-school age children to senior citizens.

Kanawha State Forest - This 9,300-acre forest offers a wide range of activities for the whole family to enjoy, including camping, swimming, hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. Only seven miles south of Charleston. The forest is noted among naturalists for its diverse wildflower and bird populations.

One Speedway - Discover non-stop racing entertainment at Ona Speedway, located about 35 miles west of Charleston. The 3/8 mile asphalt track (the only asphalt track in West Virginia) features a variety of racing categories, including Late Model, Hobby Stock and U-Car.

The Craik-Patton House - Constructed in 1834 by the Rev. James Craik, the Craik-Patton House allows the visitor to travel back to a time of petticoats and carriages, quilting bees and quill pens. Faithfully restored and preserved for the public by the Colonial Dames of America in the state of West Virginia, the clapboard Greek Revival house is open for tours from April through October.

Youth Museum of Southern West Virginia - The Youth Museum’s main gallery is made up of four railroad boxcars. The central exhibit area features an average of three different exhibits yearly. Designed to entertain as well as educate, the exhibits range from T-Rex, Bats, and Artist in the Studio to Page after Page: an award winning children’s authors presentation.
