Battle of New Orleans Celebration - Re-enactment of the famous 1815 battle at Chalmette National Park which many believe ended the War of 1812. Features military drills, musket firings and cooking demonstrations with period costumes. Held in January.

A variety of wood crafts pottery jewelry clothing dolls and other items will be available throughout the weekend. The Cajun and Creole Food Tent offer an assortment of items to satisfy all. Go Fourth on the River - New Orleans has often been ranked as one of the top places in the South to celebrate Independence Day. This day tens of thousands flock to town for an action-packed weekend of fireworks, live music and family fun. From noon throughout the night on the Fourth of July, there is live entertainment at a number of stages scattered along theriverfront from the Riverwalk to Woldenberg Park.

Satchmo Summerfest - Satchmo SummerFest features uniquely New Orleans events that take place during the festival weekend. Beginning with the Satchmo Art show, the Satchmo Birthday Party and on Sunday, patrons pack into St. Augustine Church to participate in the heralded Jazz Mass where, upon conclusion, crowds flock into the streets to join in the second-line parade to the festival.
