Charlotte St. Patrick's Day Parade & Charlotte Goes Green Festival - Uptown turns green each March when folks with things Irish on their minds gather to participate in the Queen City's annual St. Patrick's Day parade and festival. Those attending can expect to see Celtic bands, traditional Irish dancing, pipers and tons of emerald on display. Food and drink will be on hand at the festival, and there will also be plenty of activities to occupy the kids.

Coca-Cola 600 - In late May, Charlotte Motor Speedway comes alive for this popular NASCAR race that includes parades, concerts and loads of other entertainment. Races are held at a variety of tracks types, including short tracks, intermediate tracks, superspeedways and road courses.

Latin American Festival - Early October, held at the Mint Museum of Art and offering a great family day out with kid's activities, music and authentic Latin American food.

Loch Norman Highland Games - Held in April, this festival celebrates Scottish Highland traditions. Spectators from across the country come to reconnect with their heritage or simply to have great fun. Although there are plenty of kilts, there are an equal number of jeans and khakis. Taste of Charlotte - Fast a bit before heading to this gastronomic extravaganza, where some of Charlotte's best restaurants ply their wares. Buy a cup of food coins, and taste 100 different tidbits from local places like Amelie's French Bakery, Caribbean Hut, and Rí Rá Irish Pub.
