Rhode Island International Film Festival - Held every year in Providence is the Rhode Island International Film Festival. Ranked as a one of the Top 12 Film Festivals in the United States, this world-class event will be held at venues around Providence. It features screenings, filmmaking workshops, meet-and-greet industry events and seminars. Fall Out of Summer Arts Festival - Join us for an all day outdoor event in the lots surrounding Artists' Exchange, complete with live music and theater, artisan vendors, art activities and contests, food and fun! Gaspee Days - This annual celebration commemorates America's First Blow for Freedom, when brave colonists from Rhode island burned the British revenue schooner, HMS Gaspee. There are too many events to list, but they include Arts & Crafts Festival, Colonial encampment, fireworks, 5k road race, parade, sailboat regatta, and the Burning of the Gaspee. Newport's International Oktoberfest - It's no secret that for those who are aficionados of brews and ales of all types look forward to our International Oktoberfest each year with high spirits! With two biergartens, there is no wrong turn made wandering the event, appreciating the diversity of drink, and enjoying the company of other like-minded beer-lovers such as yourself! Newport Jazz Festival - The legendary Newport Jazz Festival, now called The JVC Jazz Festival-Newport, is a spectacular 3-day outdoor event that features the best in classic and contemporary jazz. Recent lineups have included Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Harry Connick, Jr., Wynton Marsalis and many more. Newport International Boat Show - One of the four largest in-water boat shows in the country, the Newport International Boat Show features both power and sail on 15 acres along Americas Cup Ave. Highlights include 850 exhibitors and over 700 boats ranging in size from 16 to 85 as well as all kinds of equipment and services, seminars, demonstrations and children's activities. |
Newport Irish Heritage Month - A month-long celebration in March to honor the Irish Heritage of Rhode Island. Plenty of exciting events all month long for the whole family to join in. Don't miss the St. Patrick's Parade, parties, and other Irish-centered activities. Newport Winter Festival - New England’s largest winter extravaganza. Alive with sparkle and excitement, the Winter Festival offers a unique winter experience combining food, music, and entertainment for all ages. A concert series, sand sculptures, a Chili Cook Off, a citywide Scavenger Hunt, an Ice Sculpting Competition, and a Children's Fair are just some of the many exciting events designed to celebrate the wonder of winter. Providence Boat Show - The Annual Providence Boat Show is one of the largest winter boat shows in New England featuring fishing and cruising powerboats as well as cruising and racing Sailboats. Plus equipment and services for all boating needs. With two side-by-side locations there is over 240,000 square-feet of exhibitor space, more than 280 exhibitors with over 300 boats ranging in size from 8 to 47 feet on display along with kayaks, inflatables, and accessories. Rhode Island Spring Flower & Garden Show - The Rhode Island Flower Show showcases more than 30 garden displays and 250 larger-than-life garden marketplace vendors. See demonstrations and lectures, with an emphasis on organic gardening and bring the kids for some family fun. Children under five receive free admission. For almost two decades the Flower Show has been the beacon for early Spring fun in Rhode Island. |
